I went trick-or-treating with my friends and younger brother this year (Yes, I know I’m already a junior in high school but it’s never too old for Halloween). Avoiding the debate of Halloween posing major health issues due to the large consumption of candy, I think it’s fantastic. It’s amazing how on this night, people all over the country is dressed up and goes knocking on random strangers’ doors and ask for candy—which is eventually going to go into their stomach.
I’m sure there are some scary incidents somewhere, but the general idea that we can walk out at night and go to strangers’ houses one by one makes me feel safe.
It just kind of reminds me that we’re not alone.
